During the medieval festivals, the historic centre of Villena is transformed to take us back in time to the middle Ages: the locals dress up in medieval costumes, they decorate the streets, the houses and the facades, creating an incredible atmosphere brimming with music and colour. As well as the medieval market with over a hundred stalls selling typical products and handicrafts, there are also a lot of shows, displays and activities such as falconry, archery, magic tricks, giants and cabezudos. (carnival figures with oversized heads).

Among all these events, we must highlight the celebration of original medieval weddings, where the bride and groom dress in medieval clothes, the Torchlight Procession, at night, or the visits to the Santa Maria church tower.
